Tell me what you think if you're reading!
Thank you.
By the way, I'm still writing On The Horizon, working on some plot tangles, but soon, I'll be back and start posting the next chapters again :) I'm planning so many things that I can't wait to share with you!!! :))
Until then.
Tier One:
Laura Pike: Intelligence: 10+; Empathy: 5; Leadership charisma: 9; Administrative/management skills: 10
The Myers-Briggs Type: ESTJ: The Director. Assertive and rule-oriented, they have high principles and a tendency to take charge.
[My version of Laura IS the smartest of all my cast, period. She is a Mensa member with an IQ equal to Einstein's. She's topping almost every stat except empathy. She’s a natural leader and would quickly climb the steps of every society she finds herself in as she did in Sanctuary, and that’s clear from her personality type. Long story short, if you force her into prostitution, she would build herself an empire from it. AND, ironically, she's the only character that I made certain from the get-go that she won't see the end :)]
Amanda Shepherd: Intelligence: 10; Empathy: 9; Leadership charisma: 7+; Administrative/management skills: 9
The Myers-Briggs Type: INTJ - The Architect. Highly logical, they are both very creative and analytical.
[I think Amanda is a clear INTJ, although sometimes she becomes INFJ, one of the rarest personality types of the Myers-Briggs classification as she has a tendency to make decisions focusing more on people and ideas, hence her high level of empathy, even though she’s very pragmatic and highly logical. She’s clearly an Architect, envisioning a better world. She’s more like a builder than a leader.
Although I always try to portray Amanda as an authentic person, far from being perfect, she also had to have a unique personality to make a man like Rick not only love but also stand as his anchor in a harsh, violent world. But because of it, she also had to be very, very smart to make her character believable. For all her life, she always had to constantly center herself and keep herself good, build herself a decent life after her childhood traumas, and you gotta be exceptionally smart to manage that. There is only she who stands close to Laura's high intelligence level. What she lacks is self-confidence, self-esteem, and the natural leadership charisma of Laura and Rick, but I believe it also makes her much more levelheaded in leadership.]
Tier Two:
Daryl Dixon: Intelligence: 9+; Empathy: 8; Leadership charisma: 7+; Administrative/management skills: 6
The Myers-Briggs Type: A website I found for the personality types of fictional and real people classified Daryl as ISTP, and I wholeheartedly agreed.
The Crafter: Highly independent, enjoying new experiences that provide first-hand learning.
[Daryl is my smartest of the canon characters. I’ve always believed he's one of the smartest of the cast of the show, although he often prefers to play the dumb. Essentially, Amanda was a female version of Daryl, so their intelligence levels and leadership charisma are about the same, but Amanda has more management skills because she has been a team girl as she used to be a cop, and she’s better with people and has feminine compassion. Daryl was a sort of lone wolf since his childhood. Daryl also has a high level of empathy, although he hides it as his intelligence.]
Undisclosed Character: Intelligence: 9+; Empathy: 7; Leadership charisma: 10; Administrative/management skills: 9
[And, here is this surprise character. I won't mention here who this person is, but she/he is going to play a key role after the second half of the story. It is an original character, and as you can see, her/his stats are very HIGH. The personality type is ESTJ.
Hehe, if you read On The Horizon, you know this character now. I’ll still keep it as undisclosed as I don’t want to spoil anyone here.]
Joan Summers: Intelligence: 9; Empathy: 6+; Leadership charisma: 5; Administrative/management skills: 8
The Myers-Briggs Type: ESTJ: The Director.
[Hah, high intelligence and killer management skills, somewhat self-absorbed personality, and a mediocre natural leader charisma; Joan in a nutshell. She would easily lead a group of ten, or twenty people, honestly, but after that, she would stagger. But she’s ESTJ because she’s a boss lady š]
Tier Three:
Rick Grimes: Intelligence: 8+; Empathy: 8; Leadership charisma: 10+; Administrative/management skills: 8+
The Myers-Briggs Type: ISTJ - The Inspector: Reserved and practical, they tend to be loyal, orderly, and traditional.
[Rick is like the textbook case of ISTJ personality, lol. The website made him an ISTJ, and again, I agreed wholeheartedly. But YEAH! I put him at the third tier because let's face it, he's not the smartest of all! J In canon, Rick has always been an average Southern family man. He's smart enough, but he doesn't have an IQ equal to Einstein, heh. His management skills are also sometimes shaky, but he's got an insane natural leadership charisma. Simply put, he's a natural-born leader who can inspire people, draw them around himself, and then stick them together. Basically, what he lacks in the other compartments, he fills with his giant charisma, heh. Sometimes he gets closer to INTJ, too, like Amanda, following his gut feelings and ‘dreams’ though he always remains very logical and practical.]
Negan: Intelligence: 8+; Empathy: 2; Leadership charisma: 10+; Administrative/management skills: 9
[Ah, here is Negan, another natural-born leader. He's quite like Rick, only he lacks empathy so much that it allows him to be his canon sonofabitch self. The biggest difference between Rick and him is also their empathy/compassion levels, and what they usually inspire; Rick mostly hope, Negan mostly fear. Their personality types are close; only Negan is an extrovert, whereas Rick is an introvert. So he’s ESTJ. The director. The website I found classified him with another personality, but I didn’t agree with it. Especially for my version of him. He's a builder, too. Building a place like Sanctuary and keeping all the other outposts requires very good management skills.]
Beatrice Reese: Intelligence: 8; Empathy: 8; Leadership charisma: 1; Administrative/management skills: 7+
[Whee, Beatrice is actually very smart, but so much spoiled that she has never needed to use her brain productively, lol. Perks of being filthy rich. She's got zero natural leader charisma as expected. She's got good management skills, though, because she has thrown parties all her life, haha.]
Glenn Rhee: Intelligence: 7+; Empathy: 9; Leadership charisma: 4; Administrative/management skills: 8
[Glenn and Beatrice have become soulmates in my story for a reason, hehe. They are both cut from the same cloth. Glenn only has a bit more charisma, but it's still not enough for leadership quality.]
Carol Peletier: Intelligence: 7; Empathy: 5; Leadership charisma: 5; Administrative/management skills: 9+
[Carol was the hardest character that I struggled with the stats. First, the show can't stick with her characterization. She's very cunning, but she acts and does stuff so stupid and so emotion-based sometimes that I feel like she has lost all her mental facility. Sometimes Rick is like that, too, but overall, there is always a good reason behind it, some solid logic that you couldn't disagree with even when you don't particularly agree. I think it's safe to say that her storyline at the prison with the flu, killing Karen and David needlessly and foolishly, and the way she reacted after it fundamentally changed how I perceive her character. So, she's more cunning and manipulative, but not smart, if you catch my drift. Being smart and cunning isn't the same thing. She definitely lacks natural leadership charisma too, which she plays to her advantage, so in the end, I decided her stats like this.]

Date: 2025-06-09 09:25 am (UTC)It is interesting that the one you struggled the most with is Carol. Which you are right. She is very calculating & yet her actions make you question her mental awareness in how it affects others. She gets so goal oriented that she feels justified in whatever means to get to her desired end. Obviously that kind of thinking can be dangerous.

Date: 2025-06-09 09:35 am (UTC)Carol is really one of a kind, and made me struggle with her a lot. Her inconsistency makes it difficult to categorize her, lol. But your comment about her is the exact thing I've been trying to do with her as she will get so much worse, creating a vicious circle with Rick (like they're turning each other worse with their ruthlessness) that Amanda will eventually need to break it to save both of them. Some poeople, despite loving each other geniuenly, just makes each other worse :(
